Hi there! I am so glad you are joining me. Welcome to Mom Wants More! This is the Introduction Episode. I wanted to take a few minutes and explain why I started Mom Wants More, the vision behind it, and what you can expect to hear.

Mom wants more was created for women just like you and me. Women who have a dream in their heart and a passion they want to pursue. Women who have a burning desire for more.

That desire started for me five years ago, when my youngest daughter began preschool. I had a bit more time on my hands and I began to feel this pull to writing. I have always loved the written word and always kept a journal. Writing for me was theraputic. But during that time I began to feel something greater than just jotting down thoughts in my pretty notebook.

I love being a wife and mom. In fact, I believe being a mother is the most important job in the world, we get to mold, love, encourage, and help guide our kids as they grow into adults. But I couldn’t shake this feeling deep within me that there was more for me – not something better- just something in addition to being a mom.

And there is more for you too!

As I started out on this journey of pursing my passion, I wished I had other women to look to, to ask questions, to learn from. Pursuing your passion, no matter what it is, often feels lonely doesn’t it?. Like we are the only ones out there doing this thing…We second guess whether we should be doing it. We ask, is it worth it? Am I doing it wrong? Should it be this hard? Where do I start? Where do I go?

We often get stuck in the trap of comparison. Add all of that to the mom guilt and the list of so many things to do. And instead of being a gift, our passions become a burden.

As I started asking these questions and exploring these ideas, often times to anyone who would listen, including the Target check-out lady, I realized how many other women, in particular moms, felt this way too.

So I decided that I wanted to encourage and inspire other women who also wanted to go all in and follow their dreams. To create a safe place that answered the hard questions, and addressed all the hard topics when it came to following our dreams. And born out of that was Mom Wants More.

What can you expect? Bi-weekly interviews with women who are pursing their passion in the middle of sometimes messy life, difficult circumstances, when the odds seem stacked against them. Women who have made their passion into successful businesses, side-hustles or simply something they love to do. Women who are more completely themselves then they have ever been before. I hope these interviews will inspire you to say “if she can do it, so can I”. And encourage you in your walk of pursuing your passion and motivate you to keep going.

In between those guest interviews, I will fly solo, just me and my mic- discussing the tough topics that no one talks about when you set out to pursue your passion. Things like, the fears we face and how to overcome them. What to do when your family doesn’t support your passion, and what to do if your passion isn’t about making a profit. At the end of those solo episodes, I will have a practical action step to take- because I’m nothing else, if not all about practical application- I’m calling this the Passion Plan. it will be something simple to move you along in your passion pursuit.

My hope and dream is that this Podcast will come along beside you and help you feel you’re not alone in this journey. And that you aren’t just a mom, you are so much more,  AND that it’s okay to want more.
